Singer-songwriter Ali Matthews is leading the pack for nominations for the 28th Annual Covenant Awards.
The Gospel Music Association of Canada's annual awards show is often referred to as Canada's answer to the American Dove Awards. This year's ceremony will be held at Calgary's Centre Street Church on October 27. But the celebrations will begin on the 25th with performances and seminars as a part of the Canada Christian Music Conference.
Of course the show will cap off the event with performances from artists like Starfield, Downhere, Brian Doersken, Carolyn Arends and Ali Matthews. Matthews is also nominated for a whopping 11 awards including Album of the Year for Window of Light and Seasonal Album of the year for On Angels Wings.
Chris Janz and Downhere both have six nominations a piece while Starfield, The Silent, Steve Bell, Carolyn Arends, each received five nods and N.I.F.T.Y. Brian Doersken and Ron Enning each got four nominations.
