SpiralFrog Jumps on EMI

Published: 2006-09-07
Just days after announcing a deal with Universal Music to offer free legit online downloads, SpiralFrog.com has just signed a similar agreement with EMI.

The new business model will offer music downloads to users for free, getting funding completely from advertisers. The move is contrary to the business model by industry leader Apple, where users pay $0.99 per song they download.

The downloads will allow people to transfer the free music from their computers to portable digital music devices so long as they aren't Apple iPods, which does not support the site's digital music, nor will you be able to burn the songs onto a CD.

Universal owns the largest share of the music industry pile with the addition of EMI, Sprialfrog.com will host nearly 40% of the music in the world.
