Master P Makes Play about Hurricane Katrina

Published: 2006-09-05
Rapper and producer Master P has created his first hip-hop gospel play about Hurricane Katrina.

Uncle Willy's Family combines music, comedy and tragedy to tell the story of a family and their struggles after the devastation of the hurricane.

The play, starring Master P as well as his son Romeo, is the first in a series of gospel plays by the rapper, who is also the CEO and founder of No Limit Records.

Though the play uses humour to entertain audiences, Master P insists there is also a serious message to be heard. The official site for the show states, "The moral of the play is: put your trust in God. Believe in your family. Nothing is impossible. Use hard times as an opportunity to grow."

The play begins its tour on Sept. 7 and is scheduled to hit cities in Mississippi and Texas with additional dates being added across the U.S. For more information about Uncle Willy's Family visit
