Keane Frontman Checks into Rehab

Published: 2006-08-23
After cancelling a few tour dates due to what the band at times said was exhaustion, it has been revealed that Keane frontman Tom Chaplin has checked himself into rehab.

This will cause a postponement for dates in the band's North American tour behind their sophomore album Under the Iron Sea this September. Tour dates from September 7 in Chicago to September 25 in Atlanta have been postponed, including a September 19 stop in Montreal and the next day in Toronto.

According to a statement on the band's website Chaplin says, "I've been having to deal with an increasing problem with drink and drugs, and the time has come to get the professional help I need to sort myself out. I feel desperately disappointed to be letting down our fans, but I want to get myself right now so that I can be back on the road for the rest of the year."

The Keane website will announce the rescheduled dates within the next few days.
