Keane Cancels Shows Due to Fatigue

Published: 2006-08-21
UK piano rockers Keane have cancelled a few tour dates this month due to fatigue.

According to the band's official website lead singer Tom Chaplain is suffering from fatigue and was advised by doctors to take some time off after playing V Festival and Pukkelpop Festivals in the UK.

According to the statement chaplain said, "I am gutted that I have to take a break from touring. I was really looking forward to these dates, but if it means we can do what we've got planned for the rest of the year then I'll take the time off. I want to apologise to our fans, and I hope that everyone understands. Be assured that we will be back out there soon."

Currently touring behind their sophomore album Under the Iron Sea, the dates cancelled are August 23 in Ibiza, August 30 at T on the Fringe in Edinburgh and August 31 in Dublin. Giving the band a couple of weeks off they should be recharged in time for their North American jaunt in September. The fall tour that will hit several major American cities will also stop in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
