V Fest adds The Strokes and more to lineup

As Canada's first ever Virgin Festival draws closer the lineup of acts just keeps getting longer for the Toronto Island show.

Already on the lineup are acts like Massive Attack, The Flaming Lips, Sam Roberts and Gnarls Barkley and a whole new crop of artists has just been added to the show which takes place on September 9 - 10.

Bands added for September 9 include UK rockers Razorlight, whose newest self-titled record will hit stores on August 22, Vancouver DJ & turntablist Kid Koala AKA Eric San, who is also set to drop a new record, Your Mom's Favourite DJ on September 25 and UK singer-songwriter David Ford who made a name for himself in the indie band easyworld.

On September 10 you can see New York-based The Strokes, whose most recent record First Impressions of Earth shot to number one on the UK charts earlier this year, electronic duo MSTRKRFT made up of Jesse F. Keeler from the recently defunct Death From Above 1979 and Al-P, who just dropped their first record The Looks this year. They will be joined by Brazilian trip-hop artist Amon Tobin, who music gamers may recognize from the Chaos Theory: The Splinter Cell 3 Soundtrack, rockers Mooney Suzuki and indie rockers Born Ruffians.

The addition of these bands brings the grand V-Fest total to 34 bands but with 40 acts promised for the two day show, we're expecting more to come.
