Sarah McLachlan is getting ready for 'Winter'

Though we're only headed into the dog days of summer, Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan is getting ready for winter.

Her new release is coming out on October 17 but will be celebrating the coldest season. Wintersong will feature winter songs like "Song for a Winter's Night" and "River" and Christmas carols like "Silent Night," "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and a cover of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)."

According to ChartAttack, she also had some help from some other fellow Canucks with songstress Diana Krall lending her piano to "Christmas Time is Here" and the Barenaked Ladies' Jim Creeggan playing bass throughout the album.

Here are the other songs you'll find on the disc:

"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)"
"What Child Is This (Greensleeves)"
"I'll Be Home for Christmas"
"O Little Town of Bethlehem"
"The First Noel/Mary Mary"
"Silent Night"
"Song for a Winter's Night"
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"
"In a Bleak Mid Winter"
"Christmas Time Is Here"
