Singer-songwriter Amy Millan is taking her new release on the road.
Though she's clocked quite a few albums as a member of both Stars and Broken Social Scene, she just released her first solo record, Honey From the Tombs this spring.
On her website she explains her choice of an album title saying it came from an interview she read given by Tom Waits where he said, "Mummies were buried with honey because it never went bad. So when the archeologists pulled them up, there was all this honey that was still fine. So he said, that's kind of how I think of the songs. That they've been buried for a long time but they're still sweet."
Now Millan is taking this sweet record on the road across Canada:
August 17, Ottawa, ON - Capitol Music Hall
August, 18-19 Ottawa, ON - Britannia Park
August 26, Toronto, ON - Harbourfront Centre CIBC Stage
September 19, Victoria, BC - The Lucky Bar
