Metric's lead singer Emily Haines is headed for the road, first by herself and then with some friends.
Her solo record Knives Don't Have Your Back is set to hit stores September 26 and according to Pitchfork the album was "written over four years, in various cities, before and after the death of a parent and during a hectic touring schedule."
Prior to the release of her record she'll be heading out minus her Metric bandmates for a short tour including a stop at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she and indie filmmaker Guy Maddin will put together a special multimedia presentation before heading to Montreal, then a few American stops. Here are the details on her Canadian stops:
September 12, Toronto, ON - Toronto International Film Festival
September 18, Montreal, QC - Le National
But before that she'll be on the road with Joules Scott-Key, James Shaw and Josh Winstead to tour more behind their most recent release, 2005's Live It Out.
September 2, Montreal, QC - Osheaga
September 3, Victoria, BC - Open Air Centennial Square
September 14, London, ON - Rock the Block
September 15, Halifax, NS - The Forum
September 16, Fredericton, NB - UNB Cafeteria
