The Toronto International Film Fest features a load of music

Likely taking in the success of films like Ray and Walk the Line this years Toronto International Film Festival is featuring a host of films about music and musicians.

Kurt Cobain: About A Son brings together footage of previously unreleased interviews to try to piece together the late grunge musician. While films like Made In Jamaica and American Hardcore explore entire musical genres like Jamaican-based reggae and dancehall as well as hardcore punk rock.

A couple of films look less at the artistic side of music and touch on the political aspects like The U.S. vs John Lennon and the timely Dixie Chicks --- Shut Up And Sing. The latter film follows the recent whirlwind that the country trio the Dixie Chicks faced after making an off the cuff negative comment about current US President George W. Bush.

The film festival will take place from September 7 - 16. The first weekend of the film festival, Toronto will also host a major music festival, V-Fest, on the Toronto Island.
