The Stones are on the phone

Rolling Stones fans will get a chance to access the band on their phones.

On their upcoming European tour the band will allow fans from around the world to call a toll free number and be able to listen to the band's concerts in real time.

For $1.99 per seven minutes of concert time, the fans can hear the band's concerts from any phone they like. The technology dubbed Listen Live Now! will give the Stones a cut of the profits but it is not known how much.

According to Reuters, "The technology allows for up to 1 million callers to phone in per date, starting with the Stones' opener in Paris' Stade de France Friday night. As the shows can only be listened to in real time--they will not be taped or delayed--it means West Coast listeners in the States will need to dial up around noon to partake of the nighttime gig."

The call-in service will only stream the shows but not record them which will give fans more of a reason to listen in.

So far the Stones are the second highest grossing tour of the first half of the year behind Madonna.
