REM `Feel Fine` about their greatest hits

Published: 2006-07-31
REM is taking their '80s greatest hits and putting them together for their upcoming release.

And I Feel Fine is set to hit stores on September 12 and highlights the band's best tunes from their time with IRS Records from 1983-1987. The retrospective will come in two versions, a one-disc set with only their greatest hits and a two-disc set that will include an extra disc of rarities, live performances and previously unreleased tunes.

The original band members, drummer Bill Berry, vocalist Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck and bassist Mike Mills all took part in choosing the tracks for the album. According to ChartAttack, the second disc includes "studio outtakes "Theme From Two Steps Onward" and "Bad Day." Other tracks include "All The Right Friends" (a re-recorded version was used on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack in 2001), demos of "Hyena" and "Mystery To Me," and live recordings of "Ages Of You," "We Walk" and "1,000,000.""

To coincide with the new record, the band will also release a DVD called When the Light is Mine that will include music videos and TV performances from the same time.
