In an effort to reach every possible Canadian music fan in and around Edmonton, the organizers of the 2004 Juno Awards have added more events to the Juno weekend, April 2-4, in Edmonton. Over half of the bands scheduled to appear at events over the weekend are also Juno Award nominees. In an attempt to showcase local talent, half of the performers hail from western Canada.

Two new events have been added to the list of festivities. The first is a show for all ages at Red's on Friday April 2. Scheduled to appear are Mark Britles Project, Our Mercury, The Operators, Wednesday Night Heroes, and Mad Bomber Society.

The second new event is an urban night on Saturday April 3. Performers for the evening include Blessed, Darkson Tribe, Jeff Hendrick, In Essence, Kia Kadiri, and War Party.
