Shoreline Music Festival rocks the Island

Published: 2006-07-21
The third annual Shoreline Music and Arts Festival is this weekend (July 21-23) in Rollo Bay, Prince Edward Island. The festival showcases some of the best music from not only the East Coast, but around the world.

During the three days, musicians will take to the stage, entertaining concert goers who stay for the day or camp for the weekend. This year's performers include Matt Mays and El Torpedo, The Sadies, Joel Plaskett Emergency, The New Deal and De La Soul, among many others.

The festival has grown since its inception in 2004 when founder Dave Christian was supporting the project out of his own pocket. This is the first year Shoreline has received corporate sponsorship and Christian hopes to work with the provincial and federal governments to receive even more support in the future.

Appreciating the East Coast's love of its beautiful environment, Shoreline will also host a roundtable featuring respected members of PEI's environmental community. The session will be a venue for the panelists to express their diverse messages and for the audience to take part in an open discussion about environmental issues and sustainability.
