Sanctus Real hit mtvU?

Published: 2006-07-19
Ohio rockers Sanctus Real are vying to get their video played on mtvU.

The college website and TV station is letting fans chose a tune to add to their regular rotation and Sanctus Real's latest single "I'm Not Alright" is one of the videos up for voting.

The most recent single off of their newest album The Face of Love has already hit number one on the radio and is now in the race to hit the number one spot in this contest as well.

The band is going up against punksters The SmashUp, hip-hop diva Cheri Dennis, singer-songwriter Jim Noir and rockers The Spill Canvas.

At the time I'm writing this article (Tuesday July 18) Sanctus Real is taking a huge lead with 67 percent of the votes. The Spill Canvas is a distant second with 28 percent.

Sanctus Real fans or fans of any of the other bans mentioned can vote on http://www.mtvu.com/music/freshmen/ until 11:59 pm on July 21. The winner will be announced on the site on July 24.
