Deryck Whibley and Avril Lavigne tie the knot

Canadian pop punksters Deryck Whibley and Avril Lavigne tied the knot this weekend in California.

Napanee native and pop punk princess Avril Lavigne and Ajax bred Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley wed on July 15 far from their Canadian hometowns in sunny Santa Barbara, California.

The couple began dating in 2004 and became engaged in 2005.

According to the Associated Press, the young couple (Whibley only 26 and his bride 21) had a fairly traditional non-denominational wedding in California. Lavigne wore a Vera Wang wedding gown while her father walked her down the aisle to the "Wedding March."

Lavigne's bridesmaids, her sister and some old friends, donned pink dresses, while Whibley's Sum 41 bandmates joined him as groomsmen. This is the first wedding for both young musicians.

Entertainment Tonight Canada has announced that they will show exclusive pictures of the wedding on the July 17th show. But I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find them online already.

Though Paparazzi parked outside the Canadian couple's nuptials, aside from the couple and Whibley's bandmates, no 'celebrities' were on hand at the wedding.

Why get married in California and make everyone travel to see you?! Wouldn't it have made more sense for them to travel BACK to Ontario to be married?! Would've been cheaper anyways! Oh yea... they don't have to worry about money! I forgot about that one!

I don't know much about the wedding or anything.. but, I think that they will be good for each other.

But Avril's music style has really changed. She still has loads and loads of talent but I like her old stuff better.

they are soo right for each other. i like her music (new and old) and his music rocks. with both their talent the both could have fantastic careers and good on them having a traditional wedding. its not common anymore so its great some people still want one
