Singer-songwriter Sandi Thom is getting set to release her debut record,Smile÷It Confuses People in North America this fall.

The UK native rose to success after webcasting her live show on her website and MySpace. After completing the record, Thom didn't have enough money to play on the road live so according to ChartAttack, "Instead she set up her webcam in her London apartment and staged what she called her '21 Nights From Tooting' world tour."

Seventy people watch the first webcast she staged and the audience grew to 70 000 people by the time she was finished.

The stunt got her a five album deal with RCA which she of course she signed live on her webcam.

Now with a bit more cash under her belt, Thom is heading out on a North American tour with one wee stop in Canada:

August 12, Toronto, ON - El Mocambo

For those of you who can't make it to the show you can always catch her disc, which will be released here in North America on September 12. Here's what's on it:

"When Horsepower Meant What It Said"
"I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)"
"Lonely Girl"
"Sunset Borderline"
"Little Remedy"
"Castles"
"What If I'm Right"
"Superman"
