Teitur sets new album ëUnder The Starsí

Singer-songwriter Teitur Lassen is getting set to drop his sophomore album in North America.

The musician from the Faroe Islands (that's between Scotland and Iceland for us non-Geography majors) released his beautiful debut record Poetry and Aeroplanes on Universal in 2003. His emotional, nostalgic, acoustic sound gained him spots opening for Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright and John Mayer but not a wide fanbase outside of his home country.

But now after parting with his major record label, he's set to release his new record Stay Under the Stars on his own label Arlo and Betty Recordings. Though the record was released in May in Europe it won't be hitting stores in North America until "around the dates of the US and Canada tour," according to his MySpace, which is sometime between September 6 and October 5.

Here's what you'll find on the record:

"Don't Want You to Wake Up"
"Louis, Louis"
"You et Me"
"I run the Carrousel"
"Thief About to Break in"
"Great Balls of Fire"
"Night Time Works"
"Umbrellas in the Rain"
"Boy, She Can Sing!"
"Hitchiker"
"Waiting for Mars"
"All My Mistakes"

Teitur will be touring Europe through July before taking a trip to North America this September. Tina Dico and Tobias Froberg will be opening. Here's when he'll be heading into your town:

September 15, Montreal, QC - Cabaret du Musee Juste Pour Rire
September 16, Toronto, ON - The Mod Club
