Johnny Cash's American V: A Hundred Highways is getting set for a July 4 release but you can get a sneak peek here:

The new record features the final songs written by the Man in Black "Like the 309" and "I Came To Believe." Like past American series albums, Cash covers songs that are American classics. In this installment Cash covers the likes of Hank Williams, Rod McKuen and Bruce Springsteen.

Though Cash passed away in 2003 the album's producer Rick Rubin was careful not to release the album too soon, waiting for the hubbub from the 2005 biopic Walk the Line to die down so the album could stand out on its own.

Ruben said in a statement, "These songs are Johnny's final statement. They are the truest reflection of the music that was central to his life at the time. This is the music that Johnny wanted us to hear."
