Punk-girl trio Sleater-Kinney have decided to call it quits after more than 10 years of making girl power music with rocker flair.

Sleater-Kinney, consisting of guitarists Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker and drummer Janet Weiss, have decided their current tour will also be their last and they will not be making any more recordings.

The members of Sleater-Kinney are legends not only for girl bands but punk rock in general. Throughout the course of their 11-year career, the band became the voice for the 'riot grrl music that emerged in the early 1990s, creating a new genre of feminist rock.

They will definitely be leaving on a high note. Their last album, The Woods, was passionate and ferocious and received rave reviews all around, as did their tour last year with Pearl Jam.

Fans should count their blessings though. The band recently expressed that they were close to breaking up prior to creating the album.

Sleater-Kinney will continue what is now their farewell tour in various cities across the United States. For more information on what is sure to be a set of amazing shows, go to
