Cornerstone offers a break to cancelled Creation Northeast ticket holders

Published: 2006-06-29
Earlier this week it was announced that the 2006 Creation Northeast Festival was to be postponed until 2007 due to safety concerns involving inclement weather. However, ticket holders to the cancelled fest may still be able to enjoy some faith, fun and music this year.

The Cornerstone Festival, held in Bushnell Illinois, is offering a 20 percent discount at the door to ticket holders for the 2006 Creation Northeast Festival. According to a statement by John Herrin, executive director of the Cornerstone Festival, "Cornerstone Festival wants to extend our prayers and well wishes to all of the folks who put together Creation Fest each summer. Creation is certainly one of the best run summer festivals and having to cancel at the last minute due to weather is a tragedy for a lot of folks."

Cornerstone is run by Jesus People USA around the 4th of July. This year's festivities run from July 3 - 8 with musical acts beginning on July 5. Similarly to Creation, it hosts a bevy of musical acts and speakers as well as some worship. Cornerstone also hosts the Flickerings Film Festival.

Bands headed to Cornerstone this year include, Hawk Nelson, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Decyfer Down, David Crowder Band, Mute Math, Relient K, Pillar, Flyleaf and P.O.D.

Camping is also available onsite for folks staying for more than one day. For more details on the festival and the discount head over to:
