J Dilla's 'Shining' final album

Hip-hop producer and musician J Dilla's final album is set to be released August 22nd.

Known mostly as a hip-hop producer, J Dilla or Jay Dee worked with hip-hop's top acts like the Roots, Erykah Badu and Common. Unfortunately, Jay Dee (aka James Dewitt Yancey) passed away on February 10th due to complications of lupus, leaving his final album The Shining unfinished.

After the cult hip-hop favourite's passing, hip-hop stars like Busta Rhymes, Common, Pharoahe Monch and Madlib came together to finish Jay Dee's final work.

The album, to be released this August, is the follow up to his instrumental release Donuts that came out three days prior to his death.
