Chris Botti trumpets down the road

Published: 2006-06-23
Jazz trumpeter Chris Botti is taking his new album out on the road.

Aside from releasing his own jazz infused records, the talented trumpeter has also worked in studio with heavyweight singer-songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Natalie Merchant and toured with musical greats like Paul Simon and Sting.

His musical connections over the years have earned him a bevy of guest vocalists for his 2005 release To Love Again. Singers like Sting, Paula Cole, Gladys Knight, Michael BublÈ and Steven Tyler all lent their voices to the record. The album, which also includes four instrumental tunes, comes in regular CD format and as a Dual Disc with interviews, studio performances and footage of the making of the disc.

Now Botti is taking To Love Again on the road, spending the summer doing a mixture of festivals, headlining shows and opening for funk band Earth, Wind and Fire. He'll continue into the fall with his solo tour, making a Canadian stop in October.

Here's where he's headed:

July 8, Montreal, QC - Montreal Jazz Festival
October 1, Vancouver, BC - Chan Centre
October 2, Edmonton, AB - Winspear Centre
October 3, Calgary, AB - Knox United Church
October 4, Winnipeg, MB - Burton Cummings Theater
October 5, Ottawa, ON - Centrepointe Theatre
October 6, Toronto, ON - Danforth Music Hall
