Janet Jackson celebrates her success with Ž20 Years OldŪ

Published: 2006-06-16
Janet Jackson proves she is not too old to make great music by celebrating her 20-year career with the release of a new album in September.

Jackson's new album will suitably be titled 20 Years Old and will be produced by her boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri. Dupri is famous for his rap music and is president of Virgin Record Urban, the company Jackson's album will be released under.

This album marks 20 years since Jackson arrived on the urban music scene with her successful album Control, which featured hit singles such as "What Have You Done for Me Lately" and "Nasty."

With her unforgettable dance hooks and her ability to cross musical genres, 40-year-old Jackson has managed to become one of the most successful females in urban and R&B music.

20 Years Old will be Jackson's first album since her explicit and provocative 2004 release Damita Jo, which disappointed most critics. The first single off her new album will be "Call On Me" featuring rapper Nelly. The track will hit radio airwaves on Monday, June 19th.

20 Years Old will be on shelves September 26th, 2006.

I thought Demi Moore was fabulous at 40 but Ms. Jackson has taken it to a different level and she looks amazing. I anxiously await the new material from Janet and I'm happy to see that she is focused and in a good place to bless the world with more ground breaking music.
