The Trews, Alexisonfire, and more Present Free Concert in Toronto

Published: 2006-06-16
Sundays tend to be a quiet day of the week reserved for relaxing and recovering from other weekend activities, but this Sunday in Toronto will be much different.

A ton of free music will be hitting the streets of Toronto. First, a free outdoor event at John and Richmond streets starting at 2p.m. will feature a crew of Canadian talent including St. Catherine's Alexisonfire, Nova Scotia's own the Trews, Montreal indie-band the Stills and Edmonton-based hip hopper Cadence Weapon.

According to ChartAttack, "The day-long party will also feature a lineup of live DJs, interactive graffiti displays and X-Box video game demonstrations. There will be a General Motors car exhibit, and one attendee will win a new Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged at the end of the event."

If that's not enough of a music party for you, head on down to Queen and John Streets for the Much Music Video Awards where you can watch performances by City and Colour, Metric, Hedley, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, Fall Out Boy, Nick Lachey, Rihanna and Nelly Furtado.

Then maybe take Monday off to relax.
