Canada is getting an increase in Dixie Chick tour dates after a colder response to their tour south of the border.
Last week rumors were circulating that the Chicks may cancel their Accidents and Accusations tour due to lagging ticket sales in the US caused by lead singer Natalie Maines' anti-Bush comments.
The Chicks responded to the rumors by posting on their official website, "Any reports being made about the cancellation of our upcoming Accidents And Accusations tour are completely false."
They went on to say, "We have known since March 2003 that our path in this business would have obstacles at every pass. We have enjoyed meeting each one head-on and we will continue to do so. Dixie Chicks fans are as active and dedicated as they come. This time around we are willingly feeling our way through uncharted territory. Things don't come as easy as they might have come in the past, and it makes each accomplishment more exciting and appreciated."
Despite lagging sales in their home country, Canadian Dixie Chicks fans have been scooping up tickets like crazy with their Toronto concert at the ACC selling out in 8 minutes forcing them to add a second date. But Toronto isn't the only Canadian city getting more Dixie Chicks love, the country trio also added dates in Saint John, Halifax, Montreal, Winnipeg and London.
They are currently touring behind their record Taking the Long Way which was released last month.
