Lady Sovereign and The Streets

UK hip hoppers The Streets and Lady Sovereign are heading out on tour across the pond this summer.

The Streets, aka Mike Skinner, has been climbing the charts in the UK since the release of his 2002 debut Original Pirate Material. His follow up A Grand Don't Come For Free hit the top of the UK charts along with his latest record The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living which came out this past April.

Lady Sovereign may be a little white girl but she had the hip hop chops to impress Def Jam CEO and rap great Jay-Z enough to sign her to his label in the US. Her newest single "Nine2Five" with UK ska-pop group the Ordinary Boys broke into the top ten in the UK last month.

The duo will tour together throughout the month of June and then both will play at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark on the first of July before going their separate ways.

The Streets will hit the Hi:Fi and Carling Weekend Festivals in the UK while Lady Sovereign will head to some music festivals in Norway and the Netherlands before hitting Central Park SummerStage in New York, Lollapalooza in Chicago and Summer Sonic in Japan before heading back to the UK for the Leeds and Reading Festivals.

But before all that they'll be doing a few dates in Canada this month as well:

June 22, Montreal, QC - Spectrum de Montreal
June 23, Toronto, ON - The Phoenix
