Nelly Furtado cuts Chris Martin loose

Published: 2006-06-09
Though many musicians would be clamoring to have Chris Martin play on their record, Nelly Furtado has had to cut him Loose from her upcoming release.

According to MTV UK a duet between Furtado and the lead singer of Coldplay was axed from her album.

"Chris' label didn't want his voice sounding so rocky, so they said we couldn't use the song," Furtado says. "Now its on the album with just me singing it."

The song "Good Things (Come To An End)" now appears on Furtado's new album Loose minus Chris Martin.

Loose is set to hit stores on June 20th and though Chris Martin won't be singing on it, there will be appearances by hip-hop heavyweights like Timbaland and the Neptunes.
