Bono Brings Music Back to Center Stage

Published: 2006-06-07
After spending the past couple of years promoting Live 8, doing all he can to help fight poverty in Africa, promoting his new Red Products, and touring behind a little album called How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, Bono is finally going back to what he does bestómaking music.

According to an article by MTV, U2's frontman hopes to put his campaigning aside in June to meet up with his bandmates and put together a new album. But following up Atomic Bomb will be no easy feat as the 2004 release sold about 10 million copies worldwide and won a whopping 8 Grammys.

In spite of the potential pressure Bono is taking inspiration from simple things, telling the UK's Guardian newspaper in an interview, "I've got a lot of songs oddly enough, from taking piano lessons. My kid's piano teacher, Dawn, has been teaching me piano. And every time she gives me a lesson I write a new song."

There's no timetable for the new album but Bono says he's looking forward to getting back in the studio.

"I'd like to thin out my schedule in terms of the politics and activism and just get lost in the music againóthat's what I'm really looking forward to for the summer."
