Published: 2006-05-30
Sting is ready to go ahead and release a new album come autumn time, which is the busiest quarter in the music industry. A slewue of new albums will be ready for release this fall and we shall see if Sting's new set will sink or swim.
The album, which will be part voice and part lute, is full of 16th century influences. The still untitled album will be released on the classical record label, Deutsche Grammophon. Sting says that this upcoming record will intrigue the public and his fans, in particular. Sting's idea to put together a 16th century disc was based on his current interest with 16th century composer, John Dowland, who alsoas well studied and played the lute for his own recordings.
No track listing has been announced for the record as of yet, but in the meantime you can catch Sting on tour this summer in Lisbon on June 4 and in other parts of Europe until July 30.
