Eric Clapton 'Back Home' on the Road

Published: 2006-05-25
Blues rocker and guitar legend Eric Clapton has been on the road with his band and will soon be taking them to North America.

Currently on a European tour that includes a seven night stand at London's Royal Albert Hall Clapton is moving on to North America this fall. Clapton and sixties blues rock band Cream made a brief stop across the pond.

Though he has demonstrated talents as a singer-songwriter Clapton is known mainly for his prowess as a guitarist. His musical talents have gained him acceptance into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his participation in bands like the Yardbirds and Cream as well as his own solo career.

Set to begin September 16, details of his North American tour have yet to be revealed, but according to the Associated Press he will do 22 concerts including ones in Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, Miami, New York, and a stop in Toronto.

His current tour has included a mix of old Clapton classics like "Layla" and tunes from his most recent 2005 release Back Home.
