Austin City Limits Festival Announce Lineup

Published: 2006-05-23
The Austin City Limits Festival is back in full swing this year with 130 acts scheduled for 8 stages over 3 days in Austin.

Taking place from September 15-17 Austin City Limits isn't quite a summer festival but will probably feel like one as it takes place at Zilker Park in Austin Texas.

Last year the fest which featured bands like Coldplay, Oasis and Wilco was threatened with cancellation because of hurricane Rita and several acts couldn't make it into the area for the festival, but the show went on.

This year features an equally impressive list of performers with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Van Morrison, Willie Nelson, Massive Attack, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, The Flaming Lips, John Mayer, The Raconteurs and the Los Lonely Boys leading the pack.

A handful of Canadian bands are also making appearances at the Texas show including Canadian mainstays the Tragically Hip, indie rockers the New Pornographers, Feist and Stars, Ottawa songstress Kathleen Edwards and singer songwriter Sam Roberts.

Other acts on the bill include Gnarls Barkely, Damian Marley, Guster, Nada Surf, Matt Costa, Wolf Parade, Okkervil River and many many more.

Remaining three day passes are $115 (US) which the website points out is about 88 cents per band.
