Sum 41 Minus 1

Published: 2006-05-15
Canadian punk-popsters Sum 41 are minus one after the departure of guitarist Dave (Baksh) Brownsound.

"I couldn't continue on creatively in Sum 41 without being a thorn in the side of the band," he said in a statement. Brownsound left the band to pursue a new musical project Brown Brigade, a new band with a more metal sound.

Though he has decided to part ways with the Ajax band he insists that the split was amicable and the other members Deryck Whibley, Jason 'Cone' McCaslin and Steve Jocz just wanted him to be happy, "We are brothers, and no matter what, they are Sum 41 and they will make an incredible album!"

There is currently no word on whether Sum 41 is in the market for a new guitarist or who it may be.

I think that Brownsound shouldn't've quit!! The band is awesome with him.
