Bon Jovi Rocks the Country Charts

Published: 2006-05-08
Though the boys from Bon Jovi have hit the top of the Billboard charts several times with their crowd pleasing brand of hair metal, their newest single "Who Says You Can't Go Home" has helped them top the charts in unfamiliar territory.

The New Jersey band has become the first rock group to top the country music charts with the tune from their latest record Have A Nice Day.

Two versions of the single have been recorded, one featuring just the Bon Jovi band members and one featuring Jennifer Nettles, lead singer of the country music group Sugarland. Originally, front man Jon Bon Jovi had called on Keith Urban to duet with him on the tune, but apparently found that Nettles was a better fit for the song.

The band has toyed with the cowboy theme in the past when their song "Blaze of Glory" was used as the theme song for the eighties cowboy flick Young Guns 2.

I Love Keith Urban and his music! I hope that Jon BonJovi releases their version also, because there are plenty of us Urbanites that would give it more than a listen and buy it!!!!

The actual fact about the Bon Jovi/Keith Urban version is that after it was recorded, Keith's record label decided that they didn't want the single competing with his own current singles in the charts.

Blaze of Glory was not a band song--it was JBJ solo song that also reached #1. I wish they would release the duet with Keith Urban.
