Rescate Prepare to Race Against the Wind

Published: 2006-05-05
Inspired by bands like White Heart, Petra, and Newsboys, but with a Latin-Christian twist, Rescate is ready to race against windóliterally.

Their new album, Una Raza Contra El Viento (which translates to "A Race Against the Wind") just went gold after surpassing 20,000 units in Argentina, making them gospel rock stars in their homeland.

The members of Rescate released their first album Ninguna Religion in 1991 after their initial meeting in a town called San Nicolas. The group began to play festivals and local concerts in their hometown, which helped pave the way for Christian-Latino music in their own country to become massively popular. Hits like "Loco" and "Deja que te toque" made them well known in Latin America.

The band, now signed to Sony-BMG Records, are trying to crossover into the American market and match the success they have experienced in their own country.
