Mayor McCa Pays his Dues on the Road

Published: 2006-05-03
Proud Hamilton native and musician Mayor McCA is set to take his act out on the road.

The slightly eccentric singer-songwriter, born Christian Anderson Smith, started his musical career off in the prog-rock outfit Gorp. After the group split he decided to make a band of his own, on his own.

According to his website he did so, "by playing bass drum with his right foot, bass synthesizer and tambourine with his left foot, guitar, keyboard, ukulele and assorted percussion with his hands, harmonicas and kazoo with his mouth and adding vocals, clarinet and tap shoes."

This spring the one time Hamilton mayoral candidate, who deems himself the hardest working man in showbiz, is taking his newest disc Dos & Dues: Demo-lition 2 on the road.

Here are the stops that he'll be making along the way:

May 4, Guelph, ON - E-bar w/Pas/Cal
May 5, Brantford, ON - Ford Plant w/Chad Van Gaalen and Brian Borcherdt
May 6, Toronto, ON - Music Gallery w/Chad Van Gaalen and Dirty Projectors
May 7, Hamilton, ON - Casbah w/Great Plains and Jenn Grant
May 8, Waterloo, ON - Jane Bond
