Doherty's New Tracks Discovered

Published: 2006-04-25
Though Pete Doherty has recently been making headlines for many things that have little relation to what he does for a living, once upon a time he was known simply for his work as a musician.

Doherty is a former Libertine, and it is rumoured that his excessive drug use caused the band to part ways. These days Doherty is currently fronting the Babyshambles, a band which seems to be heading down a similar path.

Recently some previously unreleased Libertines tracks have popped up online. The tracks "were apparently stored on Doherty's computer, but have now somehow leaked on to a number of Libertines fan sites and message boards. The songs from various recording sessions offer an inside look at what the troubled rocker was recording and listening to before and after his move between the two bands," according to ChartAttack.

Tracks discovered include "The Delaney," which was originally recorded for the band's sophomore release but never made it, and the track "Never Never." Also unearthed were demos recorded prior to the release of the band's debut LP Up the Bracket. A few Babyshambles tunes are also available including "Kilimangiro," "Black Boy Lane," and "Do You Know Me?"
