Bright Eyes Take a Break from the Studio to Tour

Published: 2006-04-19
Typically bands plan their tour schedules to coincide with the release of new material, but indie band Bright Eyes are currently planning to hit the road in the midst of recording their upcoming album.

Fronted by singer-songwriter Conor Oberst, the band is known for songs with social commentary harking back to Leonard Cohen and the incomparable Bob Dylan.

Bright Eyes will be following up a busy 2005, in which they released three (yes, three) albums, including I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning, Digital Ash in a Digital Urn and Motion Sickness: Live Recording a collection of live tunes from the year.

The new (and as of yet untitled) album will likely drop sometime in spring 2007, but in the meantime fans can check them out in concert, and maybe, just maybe, they'll play some of their new tunes!

You can catch up with Bright Eyes at one of these Canadian dates:

June 4 Victoria, BC - Royal Theatre
June 5 Vancouver, BC - Malkin Bowl (Stanley Park)
June 7 Edmonton, AB - Reds
June 8 Calgary, AB - MacEwan Hall
June 9 Saskatoon, SK - Wheatlands
June 10 Winnipeg, MB - Burton Cummings Theatre
June 13 London, ON - Centennial Hall
June 14 Toronto, ON - Massey Hall
