Dashboard Confessional Set Due Out This Summer

Published: 2006-04-10
Despite a track record of impressive record sales, it has now been three years since emo-sensations Dashboard Confessional have released an album. But don't fret emo fans, because a new record is finally on the horizon.

The band's 2003 offering, A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar, has sold 840,000 copies in United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan. "Vindicated," a song off the Spiderman 2 soundtrack was a huge hit for the band as well.

After a lengthy hiatus, the band is now gearing up for its next set, a yet untitled studio album that will find producer Don Gilmore behind the boards. Gilmore has previously worked with Linkin Park and Good Charlotte and has now teamed up with Dashboard lead singer Chris Carrabba and company for the band's next project. Originally, the band was working with Daniel Lanois, known for his work with U2, but Gilmore managed to rework Lanois' recordings for the final cut.

The new CD will also feature Counting Crows' Adam Duritz on vocals for the song "So Long," while the album's openers "Don't Wait" and "Temporary Love" find Confessional's sound to be packed with energy.

Gearing up for the much-anticipated release, the band has some upcoming tour dates, which will commence in the coming weeks.

The track listing for the new album is:

"Don't Wait"
"Sweet Lungs"
"Temporary Love"
"Stolen"
"Visions"
"So Long"
"Currents"
"Slow Decay"
"Dusk & Summer"
"Heaven"
