Xavier Rudd tours with 'Food in the Belly'

Published: 2006-04-06
Canadian-Australian singer-songwriter Xavier Rudd is taking his newest album on the road.

Dividing his time between 'down under' and in Vancouver, Rudd is a regular surfer, and that shines through in his music. His latest offering, 2005's Food in the Belly, is certainly no exception to this trend.

Rudd is known as a 'Victorian musician' which is a fancy way of saying he is a one-man band. Fans rave over his live shows, in which he plays with a guitar on his lap, harmonica around his neck, digeridoo at his mouth, hand drums to his side, and (no word of a lie) bells around his feet.

Backing him on his North American tour will be a fellow Vancouverite, Jeremy Fisher, who is currently working on his follow up to Back Porch Spirituals.

Here's where you can catch the pair in Canada:

May 17, Toronto ON - The Phoenix Concert Theatre
May 18, Guelph ON - War Memorial Hall
May 23, Winnipeg MB - Burton Cumming Theatre
May 24, Saskatoon SK - Broadway Theatre
May 26, Banff AB - The Banff Centre - Eric Harver Theatre
May 27, Calgary AB - MacEwan Hall Ballroom
May 28, Edmonton AB - Myer Horowitz Theatre
June 3, Victoria BC - The Central - Victoria Curling Club
