Paul Simon unleashes a 'Surprise'

Published: 2006-04-03
Singer-songwriter Paul Simon is getting set to release his latest album Surprise on May 9.

Simon is best known for being one half of the folk singing duo Simon and Garfunkel. In the sixties the pair released a slew of mellow hits, such as "Sounds of Silence" and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters."

In addition to his successes with musical partner Art Garfunkel, Simon has also had an extremely successful solo career with albums such as the Grammy Award-winning Graceland.

Surprise is the follow up offering to his 2000 album You're the One. Simon worked on the album with U2 producer Brian Eno. According to Billboard, guitarist Bill Frisell, drummer Steve Gadd, and pianist Herbie Hancock all make appearances on the album as well.

Though he has no tour planned for the album quite yet, Simon is scheduled to make an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 7.

Here's the track listing for Surprise.

"How Can You Live in the Northeast"
"Everything About It Is a Love Song"
"Sure Don't Feel Like Love"
"Wartime Prayers"
"I Don't Believe"
"Another Galaxy"
"Once Upon a Time There Was an Ocean"
"That's Me"
"Father and Daughter"
