Daniel Powter's 'Bad Day' is Number One

Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powter has hit number on the Billboard Top 100 this week.

His hit single "Bad Day," which is already a radio mainstay here in Canada, has just topped the charts in the United States. But oddly enough, his home country isn't even the first place that Powter's single has climbed the charts. The single started off topping the European charts even before it was tested in Canadian waters.

Powter's self-titled album was released here in Canada in July 2005 but will only be hitting American store shelves as of April 11.

"Bad Day" bumped Sean Paul's "Temperature" from Billboard's top spot on the Hot 100 and also bumped Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" from the number one spot on the pop charts.

The single has also topped the charts in France and Germany, but only hit number 3 back here on home soil.
