'Kepler ist Kaput'

Canadian indie rockers Kepler have decided to call it quits.

According to a message on the band's website (posted by bassist/vocalist Samir Khan), "Kepler ist kaput."

He and band members Jon Georgerkish-Watt, Michael Dubue, Michael Feuerstack, and Jordy Walker have decided after eight years to go their separate ways.

The band, who came together in 1998, released their most recent album Attic Salt this past July. Unfortunately for fans, Kahn says that that's the last you'll hear from them.

"The pressures (and lack of financial incentives) for having a tri-city band have become readily and steadily apparent to us, and so we bid you adieu. No formal goodbyes, no farewell shows, nothing!"

If you're going to miss the band, then you may want to pick up their back catalogue, which they are currently liquidating on their website. "The focus here is on sales - we're not doing any farewell tours or shows, All of this must go - and soon!"

Kahn went on to say that he will continue playing, as will the rest of the group's members. Those interested can continue to check the band's official website for updates on the individual members and their side projects.
