Morrissey just says no to Canada

After Paul and Heather Mills McCartney publicly denounced Canada's annual seal hunt, former Smiths front man Morrissey is joining the chorus.

Canadian Morrissey fans will just have to do without any shows in the country until the seal hunt ends for good. In a statement on his website he wrote, "I fully realize that the absence of any Morrissey concerts in Canada is unlikely to bring the Canadian economy to its knees, but it is our small protest against this horrific slaughter - which is the largest slaughter of marine animal species found anywhere on the planet."

Morrissey goes on to say that the seal hunt is purely for financial reasons. "The Canadian government will stream all of the pelts into the fashion industry."

The singer-songwriter went on to ask his fans to boycott all Canadian goods.
