Backstreet Boy goes Solo

Published: 2006-03-17
Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell has decided to start a spiritual solo career, and will release a gospel album in May.

Littrell and the rest of the boys took a hiatus from their hectic Backstreet schedule in 2001. Prior to getting back together and releasing their 2005 album Never Gone, Brian became a father and began working on his solo record.

Before Never Gone hit shelves Littrell's first solo single "In Christ Alone" was released on the Christian compilation CD Wow #1's. The tune is nominated for inspirational recorded song of the year at the Gospel Music Association Awards (also know as the Dove Awards).

His solo career was put on the back burner while the boys toured behind Never Gone, but now that their world tour has wrapped up Littrell is getting ready to release his first solo gospel CD Welcome Home on May 2.

Here's what you'll hear on the disc:

"My Answer Is You"
"Welcome Home"
"Keep Givin' Me"
"Gone Without Goodbye"
"I'm Alive"
"Over My Head"
"We Lift You Up"
"Grace of My Life"
"Angels And Heroes"
"Jesus Loves You"

I used to be a huge BSB fan. I went to all their concerts in Toronto. I loved them tons, and if they came out with more of a hip-hop CD, I would definitally listen to it! Nick, Brian, AJ, Howie and Kevin were the guys who started me out in the music business. Love you guys! x-x Nia x-x
