Arctic Moneys DVD On The Way

Published: 2006-03-16
Hot on the heels of their massively successful debut album, the Arctic Monkeys are releasing a new DVD.

Though the band has charted decently in North America, their debut CD Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not was an unprecedented smash in their native UK. The album has become the fastest selling debut album in British chart history.

So it's only fitting that the band will now release a DVD, which is due out on May 9. It will feature short films inspired by their tune "When the Sun Goes Down."

Titled Scummy Man and Just Another Day, the films "tell the story of the song's prostitute protagonist Nina (played by Lauren Socha) and what happens in her life. The other character, the Scummy Man, is played by Stephen Graham (Snatch, Gangs Of New York)," according to ChartAttack.

The DVD will also feature a promo for "When the Sun Goes Down."

The UK rockers are also planning a few Canadian stops on their upcoming tour, including two Toronto shows (one on March 20, opening for Oasis at the ACC, and a headlining gig the next day at the Phoenix). On March 22 the boys will stop in Montreal for a show at the Spectrum De MontrČal.
