Aerosmith cutting tour short?

Published: 2006-03-13
Arena-rockers Aerosmith have been cancelling tour dates this past week due to a mystery illness within the group.

Aerosmith had been touring with fellow classic rockers Cheap Trick on this leg of their tour. The band is backing their 2005 release Rockin' the Joint, a live album recorded at Las Vegas' The Joint.

Though an illness in the band has been confirmed, there is no word on what it may be or which member is affected. Speculations are that front man Steven Tyler could be the band member suffering from the unreported illness, which has caused the group to cancel tour dates since Mach 4 in Pensacola, Florida - a gig that the band simply didn't show up to.

A few days later the band cancelled a show in Lexington, KY only 15 minutes before they were supposed to hit the stage. And following that, the band cancelled shows in Manchester, NH and Hershey, PA. None of these dates are planned to be rescheduled, but refunds are available at point of purchase.

There is currently no word on what will happen for the remainder of the tour, which includes five scheduled Canadian dates. Aerosmith was set to play this coming Sunday, March 19 in Montr╚al.

The band is also scheduled to play London, ON, on March 21, Saskatoon, SK on April 5, Edmonton AB on April 7, and Vancouver, BC on April 9.

All I can say is seeing Aerosmiht in concert keeps me on a natural high for months, but if a member is ill and they would not cancel unless it WAS serious, my prayers are with you.

I hope that they don't cancel the Grand Forks concert set for March 25th. It would kill me. I just got my tix today and theyre 2nd row. I've never been that close b4 and i would die to miss an experience like that.

My thoughts and prayers are with Steven, hope he gets well soon. His health is more important than performing.

Words out. They just cancelled tomorrow nights London, Ontario concert. Darn!
You know I saw them back in the 70's. Half of you youngsters have no clue how awesome this band was back then. I really hate not being able to see them. I personally think there is something more going on other than this "mystery illness".

I read an article in the Boston Herald that said it looks like Steven requires surgery on his vocal chords. All dates are now cancelled. What a shame. I wish him a sucessful and speedy recovery.

I was going to the Edmonton show...this sucks. I understand that they may have a serious reason...but considering that everyone told me that this is their last tour, do you think they will reschedule?? anyone know?
