Coldplay wants help from Toronto fans

Some lucky Canadian fans will soon get the chance to film parts of Coldplay's upcoming concert DVD.

While the UK rockers are in Toronto on March 22 and 23 the band will be recording footage for their upcoming DVD. During their visit, they will also be holding a contest in which the winning fans are awarded the chance to film parts of the video. Like the new Beastie Boys documentary, fans will be given a video camera by the band to film the concert from the crowd's perspective.

The contest, which is being held in conjunction with Global TV, will start on March 7 and run until March 10. Fans will have to watch Entertainment Tonight Canada at 7pm each night and listen for the "Coldplay song of the day," then enter the song title into a ballot at

Winners will get receive transportation to Toronto from wherever they are in the country and will also get to keep the video camera. Of course, the chance to see their handywork on the upcoming live Coldplay DVD is the grand prize.

Remaining concert-goers will have to settle for the opportunity to be shown in a crowd shot, or be featured on the big screen. Then again, the chance to catch Coldplay live could be considered a prize in itself.
