When all the big "the" bands, like The Trews and The Vines and The White Stripes were in fashion a few years ago, Montreal band The Stills, were also included in the list.
But lately the band has been pretty quiet; so let me catch you up.
First of all the band underwent a few lineup changes. Guitarist Greg Paquet was replaced by their then drummer Dave Hamelin, who was replaced on drums by Julien Blais.
Then they went out and recorded a brand new album to follow up 2003's Logic Will Break Your Heart. The afore mentioned album to be released on May 9 called Without Feathers will feature a who's who of Canadian musicians including Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew, Metric's Emily Haines and Sam Roberts.
The tune "In the Beginning" is currently streaming on the band's myspace, which suggests that it may be the first single. But if it isn't, here is a list of the other choices:
"In The Beginning"
"She's Walkin' Out"
"In The End"
"Halo The Harpoons"
"It Takes Time"
"The House We Live In"
In addition to the new material the band plans to head out on a tour this spring to preview some of their new material to the masses. Stops include a bunch of Canadian dates and a few for our friends south of the border including the SXSE festival.
