Akron/Family Hit the Road

Published: 2006-03-01
Experimental folk group Akron/Family just can't get enough of touring!

Though the band is currently on the road and has been there since late last year they're announcing a whole new block of dates for this spring, including 13 Canadian stops hitting both coasts and a few cities in between.

The band's first release, a self titled album that came out last year featured an improvisational style that included recordings for chair creaking, thunderclaps and television white noise, as well as a slew of instruments and four part harmonies.

After hitting the road hard this past winter and spring, the band will be taking some time to record some new material this summer. But before they do here's where you can see them live:

March 2 Nanaimo, British Columbia - The Cambie
March 3 Victoria, British Columbia - Lucky Bar
March 4 Vancouver, British Columbia - Media Club
March 6 Calgary, Alberta - Broken City
March 7 Edmonton, Alberta - Velvet Lounge
March 8 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - Amigo's
March 9 Winnipeg, Manitoba - Royal Albert Hotel
March 21 Toronto, Ontario - Music Gallery at St. George the Martyr Church
March 22 Ottawa, Ontario - Zaphod Beeblebrox
March 23 Quebec City, Quebec - L'Arlequin
March 24 Sackville, New Brunswick - George's Roadhouse
March 25 Halifax, Nova Scotia - Stage Nine
March 27 Saint John, New Brunswick - Elwoods
